rhetoric 105: academic writing
This course fulfilled the first-year writing requirement for students. Students read essays by David Bartholomae, Paulo Freire, James Paul Gee, and others on schooling and academic discourse. In response, they wrote about their own sense of the purpose of the writing course and formal language.
